Gumbo & Gifts

Gumbo and Gifts was a huge success! It was the best Thanksgiving I've had in my life! We laughed, we cried, we danced, we ate so much gumbo -most importantly we served with love love love and it was felt!

I'm so grateful to have friends & family who love to serve and didn't mind rolling up their sleeves on Thanksgiving day to benefit others in need.. I'm beyond grateful for Jamal owner of Central City Grocery, not only did he open his store on Thanksgiving to serve the less fortunate he also paid a few of his employees to come in, he had the DJ come and he supplied all of the beverages, tables and chairs..

When most businesses were running the homeless and hungry off Jamal opened his doors and his heart... I'm grateful to now call him my friend & I pray he is never in lack... I pray that for everyone who sowed their finances, time and their hearts into Love Lives Foundation's Gumbo and Gifts -it was a day of giving and celebration like no other!

I drove into the faces of hope revealed under the bridge.

Walking under the bridge in New Orleans chatting with homeless men and women I had the opportunity to meet two beautiful people who were fussing about the police harassing them..After talking and praying with them the lady asked me for a ride. I was like sure -but where y'all going? They shared with me they only came out to share some of the food they had received the day before from a food give-a-way and also to share with others that God had blessed them last week after being homeless for 5 years and being on a 3 year waiting list for housing, sleeping through storms, the heat and danger on the ground with a new home -RENT FREE!!

You should already know we had to take a praise break... I was sooooo excited almost forgot about the ride. Al just kept saying wait to see how God blessed me!! I was in tears!! When we made it to the house he yelled "welcome to my mansion! It's empty but it's mine"!!! BUT GOD!! Angela was picking up her keys the next day so I didn't have a chance to see her mansion..  It's so amazing when you take time to be present in the moment. I was able to witness a huge blessing. - Jayda

High End Innovation and Feeding the Hungry

Meile Beverly Hills Showroom sets the standards on high end home appliances, it’s beyond an honor to have had the opportunity to prepare food to feed the hungry in their showroom.

The entire experience from the first day meeting Lisa, Michy & Sheeba of Meile which set the tone for the actual day of preparation to coming back the next day to prepare and meeting another staff member Shonte’ was above and beyond expectations. We would not trade a single moment for the world.

Special thanks to Trader Joe’s West Hollywood for sponsoring the food, Kaira Akita founder of Reality Revolution for coming on board to bring awareness to the masses our founders mission of giving, hope and love, Be More Media for capturing the moments and the Love Lives New Orleans and Atlanta family Kawanda and Dashan for traveling to California for the first time just to share this precious moment of luxurious giving and celebrating more to come.

From shopping at Trader Joe’s, to meeting the production team and Miele staff for the first time in person, to picking up my friends from the airport,  interacting with Miele’s customers, to preparing plates for the less fortunate with everyone still feels like a dream. It was such a continuous wave of love. I tear up every time I think of the encounter” – Jayda, Love Lives Founder

It’s no surprise that Miele’s staff member Sheeba wrote a song titled “Love Song” -so fitting.

Please enjoy the rest of the pictures. It is our hope that they come to life in your heart, giving you an opportunity to experience half the love we felt.

Fancy right?! To think it’s all being prepared to feed the homeless and hungry.. Luxury & Love together all under one roof. Imagining the fun we had right? Fun & Full Bellies for the love of #doinggood

Our founder who was born and raised in New Orleans met and had the opportunity to feed a fellow New Orleanian on Skid Row. This has been happening for the last 7 years.

Again much gratitude, love and appreciation to Miele Beverly Hills and staff, Trader Joe’s West Beverly Hills, Be More Media, Kawanda Williams, Dashan Rixner, Reality Revolution & Kaira Akita for your love and support in feeding stomachs and hearts with love.

Love Lives Cruises to Bahamas (FUNdraiser)

Love Lives had an amazing time cruising to the beautiful island of Bahamas all in the name of giving.

Besides the panoramic views of Gods beauty all around us, the highlight for everyone was docking and meeting a local "Marco" who took us on a tour not so tour to enjoy a day with the locals. It was something that we all will keep in our hearts forever.

Wedding bells and celebration the life of Ayva.

Tomboy turned Princess marries her Prince Charming while honoring the memory of their Little Angel Ayva....

I'm still in gratitude mode with the idea of helping this family say "I do" after having to bury their daughter Ayva to cancer. This was out of the norm for Love Lives but so worth it. We are honored to have been a part of this magical journey.

Special thanks and gratitude to our partners in love, Jazmyne of JazNyc Photos for taking the wedding photos I know they are going to be beautiful!

Dj Blak Magic as always your music selection was amazing and on point every moment!

Yolanda of Shyne Hair Design the brides hair was flawless!

Sylvia of 40 Girls and some shoes for the brides gorgeous silver heels.

Being apart of such a special occasion and to see people, businesses, family and friends stepping up to support such a beautiful and deserving family reminds me of Gods goodness and one of my favorite scriptures - "I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living. -Psalms 27:13

Congratulations Reggie & Cindy!! God bless you... Thank you for being who you are and thank you for allowing us to serve you and share in this joyous occasion.. Know that your strength is inspiring.. Blessings & Love

Love Lives participates in the Expedition Give Scavenger Hunt for Charity

Love Lives staff Tinisha Ramos and founder had the opportunity to participate in Expedition Give 5 hour Charity Scavenger Hunt.

“The hunt was AMAZINGLY awesome!! It started at ended at the amazing “Front Page News” (which happens to be one of Jayda's favorite restaurants in Atlanta.)

Participants walked; hopped on the Marta train, walked, and ran like their lives were on the line.  At the beginning of the hunt everyone received a list of commands that needed to be completed, such as writing cards to soldiers, preparing sandwiches for the local soup kitchen, convincing a stranger to donate $5, donate can goods,  going to the King Center and taking a picture in front of Dr. Kings tomb, collecting various pictures in front of different locations and monuments, such as the Boys & Girls Club, Coca Cola, Etc.

The funniest thing happened for the Love Lives team, there was this elder man and young child standing on the corner. The gentlemen stated that he and the child were hungry and looking for something to eat.  The team gave them food and $5.00 and proceeded to achieve the their next task after the brief divine intermission.  After they walked off they realized they had to do an act of kindness to a stranger and take a picture with that person as well.  Imagine the two of them running to capture the two for a picture.

"Besides the fun, excitement and unity between Tinisha and myelf, the event was a HUGE success!!"  -Jayda

Participants collected over 500 pounds of food for the Atlanta Community Bank, made nearly 100 sandwiches for the Trinity Soup Kitchen (some teams didn’t make it to the sandwich station in time, it was hilarious one team went to the actual soup kitchen thinking it was there), teams wrote more than 200 cards for Georgia soldiers serving overseas, as well as handwritten “Get Well” cards for sick children in Atlanta hospitals, spread 40 wheelbarrow loads of mulch in Ansley Park, learned about and supported over 100 different charities and causes, and much more..
